‘Perversion’ is a menswear collection deriving from the concept of distorting reality. Roger Ballen and Hans Bellmer photography is an initial influence as both portray various parts of the human bodies morphing in to new distorted shapes. This idea has been directly transferred in to moulage development where recognisable garments have been morphed together to create something new.
A muse was created to develop the garment range in which to distort. The muse portrays a harsh grunge exterior, contrasting to his mellow, creative personality. Leather and bomber jackets are given a new form, distorting the traditional menswear stereotype. Garments extensions of the body, style open exposing skin, relating directly back to work of Ballen and Bellmer.
