The Moors collection consists of heavily textural women’s knitwear for autumn winter 2017. Inspired by the purple and green hues of the Rothbury Moors in the Northumberland countryside, and the textures and movement throughout the landscape as viewed and photographed from above. The fully knitted collection experiments with various techniques to create thick tufting and fringing details inspired by textiles artist Alexandra Kehayoglou, who creates vast tufted rugs and
tapestries based on nature and landscaping.
Trough developing and investigating new textile methods and combining those with old and traditional craft techniques such as felting and tufting, these practices help to give each garment a fun
and quirky twist. Each garment has been hand crafted using fully fashioning to create clean and conceptual silhouettes, which have been inspired by traditional Japanese garments and contemporary designers, while keeping a heavy and textural feel throughout.
